 Your insurance company has selected our preferred provider network as a way for you to save money under your health benefit plan. Here is some information that will help you take advantage of this benefit enhancement.

What is InterWest?

InterWest Health is a PPO network doing business in Montana, Idaho, Washington, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming. It is the largest, most comprehensive PPO network available in the region, consisting of over 15,000 participating hospitals, physicians and other providers. All of our Participating Providers are thoroughly credentialed to ensure they meet minimum quality standards.

InterWest is not your insurance company. It is a local preferred provider network that your insurance company uses to support your health benefit plan. If you have questions concerning eligibility, benefits, precertification or claims status, you will need to contact your insurance company - not InterWest.

How do I use the network?

Your health benefit plan encourages you to obtain services from providers participating in the InterWest network. If you go to one of our Participating Providers, you will benefit in two ways:

• You will not need to file any claim forms
• Your out-of-pocket costs will be reduced

Providers participating in InterWest agree to file claim forms on behalf of enrollees and to accept InterWest’s maximum allowable fees as payment in full with no balance billing. For most services, this means significant savings for both you and your health benefit plan.

What providers are in the network? 

All of the physicians, hospitals and other providers who participate in the PPO network are listed in our Participating Provider Directory. Copies of the directory are available from your insurance company or employer. They may also be downloaded from this website.

There is a good chance that your personal physician is already a member of the PPO network. If not, please send us a Provider Nomination Form and we will contact the provider to see if he or she would be interested in joining the InterWest PPO network. If you feel comfortable talking with your physician about participation in your health plan, please do so. Most physicians are receptive to participating in plans that are important to their patients.

Because of changes that occur in our PPO network, we recommend that you update your directory often. You can download a current directory at any time from this website. You can also use the website to search for specific providers by name, location, specialty and clinic affiliation.
